Torrevieja advances in the Social Pact promoted by Agamed with the celebration of the first table of Solidarity and Employment
Agamed, the mixed economy company in charge of managing the integral water cycle in Torrevieja, has launched the Social Pact initiative, to establish a model of reconstruction after the current crisis that bets on solidarity, quality employment and green reconstruction. The aim of this action is therefore to contribute to economic recovery with a water management model that improves the quality of life and protects people, especially the most vulnerable.
To this end, two roundtables were set up, one linked to "Solidarity and Employment" and the other to "Green Reconstruction", made up of public officials, local social and business representatives and Agamed professionals.
The first "Solidarity and Employment" working group was held today. The starting point for the sessions is the analysis of an initial document which brings together a set of initiatives aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, set out within the 2030 agenda. In particular, the initiatives linked to Solidaridad include direct support for people in vulnerable situations, transparency in all aspects of water bills and a new relationship with citizens that is adapted to the new situation. The Employment section includes initiatives linked to quality and future employment and the promotion of economic and local activity.
On the basis of this document, the objective of these meetings, which will be held periodically, will be to analyse all these initial proposals and incorporate those that the members of these roundtables consider necessary to contribute to economic recovery. At the same time, the procedures and financing required for the implementation of each of these initiatives will be defined.
This model, based on local commitment, will promote green reconstruction, innovation, solidarity and employment, favouring the evolution towards a sustainable and resilient Torrevieja.
