Responsible water use campaigns
 

Responsible use of water is one of Agamed’s main goals. Part of these efforts focus on contributing to quality environmental education. To do this, a number of recommendations have been included in the information leaflets distributed in municipal offices and the customer care office. We have also carried out special programmes in the local media to inform the public on topics related to water, recommendations for responsible use and management of the service in Torrevieja.

Aqualogía
 

Aqualogía is an educational programme which aims to take the natural and urban water cycles to schools and thus encourage a positive attitude towards the environment through a methodology based on participation and interactivity.
The programme is conceived as a support element for primary school teachers in science. For 90 minutes, pupils are involved in experiments to learn about processes associated with the cycle.

Environmental June
 

In the month of June, Agamed and Torrevieja Town Council celebrate World Environment Day with a month of activities on the theme of the environment to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental protection and responsible consumption. A number of actions are organised for this purpose, such as the screening of environmental documentaries, talks and family activities.

Let’s Clean Up Torrevieja
 

Volunteers among Agamed employees and Torrevieja residents took part in a European initiative to clean natural areas, with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of reducing and recycling waste and, more specifically, of the environmental problems caused by waste, especially in aquatic ecosystems.

This initiative was carried out in the Lagunas de la Mata-Torrevieja Natural Park, with the participation of Torrevieja Town Council and a number of companies, associations and institutions. Thanks to the work of the volunteers, over 600 kg of waste were collected from the park.
